Spirit Healthcare and NHS Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group are working together to develop a unique Structured Diabetes Education programme for people aged 18-25 with type 2 diabetes. It is hoped that the programme will be delivered to groups of 6-10 people in a workshop format, and will focus on diabetes and lifestyle issues that are particularly important to this group of people.

We want to make this programme as relevant as possible so that participants find it enjoyable and informative and learn skills to help them manage their diabetes.

We are now recruiting people to advise us on the development of the programme.  For example, we want to know what should be included, when the sessions should take place and where, and what would encourage people to attend.

We are looking for volunteers to join an online forum to discuss these areas and review the course content. We are also looking for a small group of people to take part in a workshop on 14th September from 6pm to 8pm in Leicester to test the course materials.

If you are aged 18-25, and whether you have type two diabetes or not, if you are interested in helping us, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Spirit by email or by phone on 0800 881 5423.
